The two-step verification adds an additional security
protection between hackers and your account. Means you need to enter a pin code
sent to your device, whenever you want to access your account from different
computer or device.
Two Step Verification to Apple ID
Step 1: Go to Apple’s My Apple ID using any compatible web
browser. There you need to login to your Apple ID by clicking on the “Manage
your Apple ID”. Now you need to enter your Apple ID and password and click
“Sign In”.
Step 2: Once you’re done, you will be logged in there on the
left hand side select the “Password and Security”. If you are asked for the
security questions to your account security, answers them. Then you should be
directed to “Security Settings” page.
Step 3: You will see Two-Step Verification at the top of the
page, Click on Get Started section. You may come through few informative
prompts, to enable two-step verification Apple suggests a complex password that
includes at least 8 characters, one capital letter and one number.
Note: if you’re likely to change your password means you
need to wait for 3 days before proceeding.
Step 4: Once you done, the devices that are access to your
iCloud account should be listed in the next page. Then depending upon the
option you select, tap on the “Verify” button to receive a 4 digit pin which
will be sent via SMS or select Find My iPhone push notification. You should
enter the code on the website, and if you wish verify all your devices, repeat
the process.
Step 5: Here a 14
digit Recovery Key will be given to you, save it where you could remember
easily or else print or write it down, because this key is very important once
you lose this key and forgot your password means, there is a chance of locking
your account forever. In the next page you will be asked to confirm it.
Step 6: Lastly, you should confirm the conditions and risks
of the two-step verification process. Now check on the “I understand” box and
click on “Enable Two-Step Verification”, then a confirmation screen will appear
saying, it’s been enabled, and the setup process is complete.
